Sphynx cat lifespan
I cannot give you a Sphynx cat lifespan number. I will not invent one.
You came here for a year count. Almost every other page will hand you one. I am not going to, because I do not have a number I can stand behind, and a number I made up would not help you plan anything.
What I have actually seen
I have only been breeding about 5 years. That is not long enough for me to tell you how long the cats I have placed have lived.
The kittens I sent home early on are still young cats. They are out living their lives in other people’s houses. I hear from those families, and I love hearing from them, but knowing a cat is happy right now is not the same as knowing how long that cat will live.
So when I say I do not know, I mean I have not been doing this long enough to know. That is the honest version of the answer. I would rather give you that than repeat something I read on somebody else’s website.
I also would not trust a number from a breeder who has been at this as long as I have. There is no way for me to have that information yet.
The 20-year ask
If you want a 20-year cat, that is a moot point with me. I cannot promise you those years.
I am not saying that to be cold. I am saying it because the promise is the part that should worry you. Nobody selling you a kitten knows what happens in that house for the rest of that cat’s life.
The one shortened life
I have seen one life shortened. A negligent owner did not take the kitten to the vet in time.
I am not telling you that to scare you. I am telling you because it is the only time I have watched an outcome change, and it was not genetics that changed it. It was care that did not happen.
That is why the plainest thing I can say about how long your cat lives has nothing to do with the breed. Have a regular vet. Use them.
When to call a vet
Call a vet if they vomit, have diarrhea, seem lethargic, will not eat or drink, or feel too cold.
Those are the signs I do not want anyone to sit on. A kitten is small, and things move fast in a small body. I would much rather you call a vet over nothing than wait a day to see if it passes on its own.
When to call me
Call me about anything. That is not a line I put at the end of a sale.
Call, text, or email me anytime after they go home. I do not put a clock on it, and I do not stop answering once the kitten is yours.
What I can stand behind
I cannot promise you years. I can tell you what I do before a kitten leaves me, and I can tell you what I put in writing after.

How long do Sphynx cats live?
I do not have a number I can stand behind. I have been breeding about 5 years, and that is not long enough for me to report how long my placed cats live.
Will you promise me a 20-year cat?
No. If that is what you are after, it is a moot point with me. I cannot promise you those years.
Why will you not just tell me the average?
Because it would not be mine. I can only tell you what I have seen in my house, and what I have seen is not a lifespan number yet.

What is the biggest thing I can do for my cat?
Keep a regular vet for general health, and use that vet when something is wrong. The one shortened life I have seen came from a kitten not getting to a vet in time.
What signs mean I should call a vet?
Vomiting, diarrhea, no energy, not eating or drinking, or feeling too cold.
